New roles for nurses are emerging and nursing education is changing to meet the complex health care needs of our population. Grounded in the science of caring and mindfulness practice, and in partnership with local health care agencies, HSU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program prepares registered nurses with the knowledge, attitude, and skills to address the unique needs of rural and tribal communities.

Students will gain unique perspectives on the complex social health needs of a remote and rural region with numerous Tribal communities.
Our small cohort size means close collaboration with other students and meaningful connections with professors and advisors.
The BSN degree enhances this training and experience to provide nurses with a systems perspective on improving health care for all. Nurses will develop the leadership and communications skills needed to be interdisciplinary partners in delivering higher-quality care at a lower cost, in a way that increases access and reduces burnout among the health care workforce.
